CJ Holmes, founder of the non-profit, Home Owners for Justice, will host a free Foreclosure Town Hall meeting Thursday, Oct. 18 at Satellite Telework Centers in Felton to discuss with the community at large the ongoing housing crisis and possible solutions to the housing crisis from a County perspective. No legal advice or guidance will be provided.
People can join in a public format to go over topics such as: pre-foreclosure, foreclosure, the new California law – HomeOwners Bill of Rights, the expiration of the IRS’s mortgage debt forgiveness law on 12/31/2012, working with their bank, how to file complaints, etc.
Holmes will provide overviews of the new California law called the Homeowners Bill of Rights, the implications of the upcoming expiration of the IRS’s mortgage debt forgiveness law on Dec. 31, 2012 and help the audience to consider various options related to their pre-foreclosure and foreclosure proceedings. Holmes’ presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.
